stress

Stress is a physiological reaction of the organism to non-specific stimuli with properties capable of altering the homeostasis or balance of our body. It is closely linked to anxiety.

Stress treatment can be carried out with a process ofcoaching strategicwhere very clear and concise objectives are set, allowing us more mental space, and therefore better management of the situation.

Stress is the body's way of reacting to achallenge.

This response implies an activation of:

  • Hypothalamic-pituitary-adrenal system (corticosteroid activation)

  • Autonomic nervous system.

If this response (which in principle is adaptive) lasts over time, it produces the stress syndrome with:

  • Hyperdevelopment of the adrenal cortex

  • involution of the thymus

  • Peptic ulcer.

Stress can be associated with both pleasant and unpleasant stimuli. The total lack of stress would produce thedeathof the organism.

There are three stages:

alarm reaction: when the organism is suddenly exposed to stimuli to which it is not adapted.

resistance stageAt this stage, the organism adapts to the stressor. There is an improvement and disappearance of the symptoms.

Depletion stage:If the body continues to be exposed to the stressor for a long time, the symptoms of the reaction stage reappear and this may mean thedeathof the organism.

Prolonged stress responses bring about a decrease in the immune system .

Currently, a decrease in immune function is a gateway to multiple pathologies such as cancer.

stress treatments.

Stress treatment is of great importance since it is closely related to our health.

There are currently many tools for this, as with other disorders.

Virtual Reality is currently gaining strength in this field and there is evidence that supports its effectiveness. That is why inpsychosyncWe are committed to stress treatment with Virtual Reality.

through theVirtual realitythe body can be trained to induce states of relaxation so that the stress response does not become maladaptive and affect our health, reducing treatment time.

Many of today's diseases are largely due to maintaining this state of alert for a long time.

Among other alternative ways to handle and manage stress we have:

  • mindfulness

  • A healthy diet.

  • Time management

  • cognitive restructuring

  • Physical exercise (There is a lot of scientific evidence of how the practice of Yoga helps us to balance and find mental clarity).

  • Have quality relationships.

  • Spend your time on something that really satisfies you, makes you grow and evolve and contribute to the rest.

  • To travel....

Maintained stress levels can produce a long-term weakening of our immune system, this being the cause of many of the current diseases such as fibromyalgia, cancer, etc.
